HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s4 is a desktop sheet-feed scanner at 40 ppm one-sided / 80 ipm duplex, with a 50-sheet ADF, 600 dpi optical resolution, and USB connectivity. It includes OCR and HP's bundled scan software for converting paperwork to searchable PDFs. Recommended daily duty cycle is around 4,000 pages. Compared to the 2000 s2 it's a step up in speed and duty cycle, but it's still USB-only. The regret to flag: many buyers expect Wi-Fi on a 's4' generation scanner and are disappointed when they realize it's USB only. If you need network scanning, the N4000 snw1 (the next step up) adds Wi-Fi and Ethernet for a moderate price difference. For a single user or small team with a dedicated scanning workstation and moderate-to-heavy daily volumes, the 3000 s4 is the value pick.
