HP ScanJet Pro 2000 s2 is a desktop sheet-feed scanner rated at 35 ppm one-sided / 70 ipm two-sided, with a 50-sheet ADF, 600 dpi optical resolution, and USB connectivity (no Ethernet, no Wi-Fi). It includes OCR software for converting scanned text to searchable PDFs and editable documents. Recommended daily duty cycle is around 1,500 pages. It's the entry-level model in the ScanJet Pro lineup. The regret to flag: USB-only means one user, one PC. If anyone else in the office wants to scan, they have to walk to that one computer. The ScanJet Pro 3000 s4 adds Wi-Fi/Ethernet for not much more, and the N4000 family adds network scanning. For a single user with a dedicated scanning workstation and moderate daily volumes, the 2000 s2 is the right shape and the cheapest entry into HP's Pro scanner lineup.
