Every spec, no guessing
The Ricoh SP 8400DN is a floor-standing A3 mono laser printer built for departments, mailrooms, and print rooms pushing 10,000-50,000 mono pages a month. It runs at 60 ppm with first page out in 2.2 seconds, prints at 1200 x 1200 dpi, and has auto duplex standard. Standard paper input is 1,200 sheets (550 + 550 + 100 bypass), expandable to 4,700 sheets with the 550x2 PB3240, the 2,000-sheet PB3260 LCT, or the 1,500-sheet RT3030 side LCT. Max paper size is 12 x 18 from the bypass, 11x17 from trays — this is a real tabloid printer. The 10.1-inch Smart Operation Panel is a full color touchscreen with USB host and SD card slot built in, and runs the same shortcut/widget UI as Ricoh's IM MFPs. Connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, dual USB Type A host standard; Wi-Fi (Type M19) and NFC card reader (Type P11) are optional. Finishing is the differentiator: the SR3230 3,000-sheet finisher, SR3210 1,000-sheet hybrid stapleless finisher, FD3000 internal multi-fold unit (z-fold/tri-fold), and CS3010 4-bin mailbox all bolt on. Toner is the SP 8400A at 51,000 pages, with a 160,000-page Maintenance Kit A and a 320,000-page Maintenance Kit B (fuser). Duty cycle 300,000/mo. Buyers regret: no color, no scan, no fax. If you need any of those at this volume, get an IM MFP. And it's a floor-standing unit — plan the footprint before you order.
