Every spec, no guessing
The WideTEK 12-600 is an A3 flatbed scanner aimed at libraries, archivists, and forensic teams that need high-fidelity capture of bound or fragile material up to 12 x 18 inches. It runs 1,200 x 1,200 dpi optical (9,600 dpi interpolated), full-color scans in under 3 seconds at 300 dpi or 6 seconds at 600 dpi, dual LED illumination with no warm-up, and a built-in 64-bit Linux PC with a 7-inch WVGA touchscreen so it operates standalone without a host computer. Output formats include PDF, PDF/A, JPEG, TIFF, PNM, and multipage PDF/TIFF. The borderless non-reflective glass plate also supports a 3D scanning mode for surface geometry capture (Braille, industrial parts). Connectivity is USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet. The catch buyers admit to: this is a flatbed only — no ADF — so high-volume loose-page batch scanning will frustrate you. If your work is mostly bound books, fragile documents, or 3D objects, this is the right tool. For loose-page batch jobs, pair it with a sheet-fed scanner.
