The Lanier MP 601SPF is a desktop B&W laser MFP built for small offices and workgroups of 8-25 users that need real speed without an A3 footprint. It prints and copies up to 62 ppm at 1200 x 1200 dpi — the fastest desktop in the Lanier MP lineup. Standard paper capacity is 500 sheets in the main tray plus a 100-sheet bypass, expandable to 2,600 sheets with optional feed units. First-copy-out is 6 seconds or less, warm-up is around 25 seconds. The 75-sheet ARDF handles two-sided originals by flipping them, so it's slower than a true single-pass SPDF. Engine duty cycle is 275,000 pages but Ricoh's recommended monthly volume is 16,600 — past that band the floor-standing MP 4055/5055 makes more sense. The 10.1-inch Smart Operation Panel is the same Android-based touchscreen used on the rest of the current Ricoh/Lanier MP lineup. Standard connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet, dual USB 2.0, and dual SD card slots; Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, IEEE 1284, and a 2-port NIC are optional. The thing buyers regret: ordering this for a 30-person office that prints 18,000+ pages a month — you'll burn through toner and the recommended monthly will be exceeded. Launched 2017, discontinued — sold refurbished or off-lease now.
