The Lanier MP 2852 is the 28 ppm A3 mono laser MFP in the older Lanier MP 2352/2852/3352 family. It targets small and mid offices of 10-30 printing 3,000-7,000 pages a month. The chassis runs at 28 ppm at 600 dpi with a 4.5-second first-page-out, holds 1,100 sheets standard (expandable to 2,300), and is rated for 100,000 pages per month. The 100-sheet ARDF handles routine multi-page scans, and print/copy/scan/fax are all standard with auto duplex on print and scan. The 4.3-inch color LCD covers the basics — preset shortcuts, address book, scan/fax destinations — but lacks the Smart Operation Panel that ships with the newer MP 2554 generation. Connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet plus USB; Wi-Fi and NFC are optional. The chassis is 27.9 x 23.1 x 25.7 inches at 143 lb on a 120V/12A circuit. The thing buyers regret: not realizing how much UI changed in the next generation. If you're cross-shopping with the MP 2554, the older 2852 is fine but feels dated — operators trained on either platform notice the difference immediately.
