The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000S is the 44-inch production signage variant in the PRO series — designed for poster, POP, banner, and signage work where consistent color across long runs matters more than fine art photo gamut. It uses Canon's 8-color LUCIA PRO pigmented ink set, but laid out across all 12 channels of the print head in a mirror configuration, so all 12 nozzles per print head pass contribute to the print and you get signage-grade quality at production speed. Maximum resolution is 2400 x 1200 dpi delivered through the L-COA PRO image processing engine. Ink ejection is monitored by 27 sensors. The built-in color densitometer with three-color LED and condenser lens keeps color reproduction consistent printer-to-printer with low color difference. Wi-Fi is standard. A 320 GB built-in hard drive spools jobs, stores reprints, and frees the workstation. Ink tanks are PFI-1100 (160 ml), PFI-1300 (330 ml), or PFI-1700 (700 ml), with the Sub-Ink Tank System ensuring all ink in a tank is used before replacement.
