Every spec, no guessing
The Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX 6855i is the entry-level model in the current iR-ADV DX 6800 series, an A3 monochrome floor MFP for workgroups of 20-60 people that need real tabloid-size mono with current-gen hardware (256 GB SSD, 5 GB RAM, Trellix runtime intrusion detection). It prints and copies at 55 ppm letter, 36 ppm letter-R, 32 ppm legal, 29 ppm at 11x17, with first copy out in 2.9 seconds. Standard paper capacity is 1,200 sheets across dual 550-sheet cassettes and a 100-sheet stack bypass — expandable to 6,350 sheets with optional cassette feeding units, the 2,450-sheet HCFU-C1, and the 2,700-sheet Paper Deck Unit-F1. The 200-sheet single-pass DPF runs 270 ipm in duplex. The 10.1-inch flat-panel touchscreen runs uniFLOW Online, hot folders, and scan-to-everything (SMB, FTP, WebDAV, email, IFAX, Office Open XML). Connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet plus Wi-Fi standard, with native Cloud Connector for Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Universal Print by Microsoft. Security stack includes Trellix Embedded Control, FIPS 140-3 SSD encryption, and TPM. The thing buyers regret: scaling up too far. If your monthly volume is under 3,000 pages, this is overbuilt. The other thing to know: it sits below the 6860i (60 ppm) and 6870i (70 ppm) — pick by monthly volume, not by ppm bragging rights. Toner is GPR-63 Black.
