The WideTEK 36DS is the duplex sheet-feed wide-format scanner: 36-inch (915 mm) duplex capability that captures front and back in a single pass, 1,200 x 1,200 dpi optical (9,600 dpi interpolated), max speed 12.4 inches per second at 600 dpi (about 3.2 m/min), built-in 64-bit Linux PC with LED illumination (50,000-hour lifetime, zero warm-up), Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 connectivity, and output formats including multi-page PDF/A, TIFF, JPEG, and PNG. It's pitched at copy shops, libraries, and design studios that scan two-sided drawings, newspapers, and bound prints in volume. The honest catch: this is sheet-feed only — bound books, fragile material, and rigid mounted artwork need a flatbed (WideTEK 36 or 36ART). And duplex speed only matters if your originals are actually two-sided; if they're not, the simpler WideTEK 36 saves money. Best fit: high-throughput shops where two-sided capture is the constraint.
