HP DesignJet SD Pro 2 is a 44-inch large-format Contact Image Sensor (CIS) scanner built for production use — scanning maps, technical drawings, blueprints, and large prints up to 44 inches wide and any length. CIS scanning gives sharp results on technical line work and outperforms older CCD scanners on flat originals. It's scanner-only — no print or copy — and pairs with a separate large-format printer (commonly the DesignJet T-series) for a complete plotter+scanner workflow. Connectivity is USB and Ethernet. The regret to flag: the SD Pro 2 is a CIS scanner, which is excellent for technical drawings and line art but less ideal for high-quality photo or fine-art reproduction (CCD scanners do that better). If your scan jobs are mostly photos or fine art at 44 inches, look at the HD Pro 2 instead. For production CAD/GIS scanning, this is the right tool.
